01 Jan MEMORIAM TO BRO. VERL STEWART

Spry Lodge mourns the passing of Bro. Verland (Verl) Earl Stewart to the G.L.A. on December 31st, 2017 at the age of 91 years. Verl was a beloved member of Spry Lodge for more than 65 years. He always had a sprightly sense of humor, an engaging (and often mischievous) chuckle and a reminiscent story suitable for any occasion.

Verl was born on May 17th, 1926. He was Initiated into Spry Lodge and Freemasonry on June 16th, 1952; passed to the Fellowcraft degree on October 20th, 1952; and Raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason on November 17th, 1952. He was Raised to the Degree of Grand Elect Perfect and Sublime Mason (Scottish Rite 14th Degree) on October 27, 1954. Verl was also active and a Past Worthy Patron within the Order of the Eastern Star.
