02 Feb A BUSY & PRODUCTIVE JANUARY MEETING

The regular meeting of Spry Lodge, held on January 22nd, 2018, was a busy and productive meeting.

Following the regular business portion of the meeting, Mr. Erick Woods was initiated into Freemasonry and became Brother Erick Woods, the 566th and latest member of Spry Lodge No. 385. Bro. Woods is shown below along with the W.M. of the lodge, W. Bro. Jeff Johnson, and his sponsors, Bro. Frank Burch and Bro. Niall Merrilees.

Bro. Frank Burch also proved his proficiency in the M.M. Degree, to the full satisfaction of the lodge.

Following these excellent displays of ritual, R.W. Bro. David Boyd delivered a captivating piece of masonic education, namely the story of Jephthah; his humble and difficult beginnings, his rise to be the General of Giliad and his leading the Israelites in battle against Ammon, his victory and his vow to sacrifice whatever would come out of the door of his house first, and to conclude, the dispute about whether or not the sacrifice of his daughter was actually carried out. Our sincere thanks to R.W. Bro. Boyd for such an excellent piece of enlightenment.

All in all a very enjoyable evening, and finished by 10 pm. Congratulations and well done to all!
